Safflower oil penetrates the skin rapidly and delivers a dry skin feel. It contains an extremely high level of oleic acid (up to 78%), an essential fatty acid (EFA) which reduces Trans Epidermal Water Loss (TEWL) and restores the elasticity of the skin. Unlike other oils that are highly occlusive, Safflower Oils deposits into the stratum corneum to help to restore skin health giving it a much longer lasting effect than occlusive oils. Safflower Oil contains a high level of antioxidants which are known to reduce signs of aging, repair the skin barrier, brighten hyperpigmentation, and protect against UV damage. The natural antioxidants that come from Safflower OIl’s vitamin E and phenolic compounds, like acacetin, play an important role in preventing collagen degradation, the breakdown of collagen, which plumps and firms the skin.
